BBQ

I got these photographs via email from a park goer.
"Hi - Please publish these photos taken last weekend during the mayhem. Calls to 311 about the BBQ were met with the dispatch of NYFD after we asked for a police response."

I gather from the photographs that the FDNY didn't do anything. The 2nd photo down shows them letting a child sit in the truck.

BBQs are not allowed for many reasons. These people shown obviously don't respect their neighborhood or park.

If anyone has any photographs of people breaking park rules please send them to Erin or me.

Bicycle riding is not allowed in Inwood Hill Park.

Did you know that bicycle riding is forbidden in the park? I noticed only because there are signs posted all over the friggin' place. But who cares, because most bike riders are respectful and are just enjoying our lovely park and getting great exercise to boot? Well, popping wheelies where there are dense crowds of pedestrians is dangerous. The regulation is not enforced at all, but at least should be enforced in crowded areas. I do not agree with the ban on bikes in the park, but would like to see some enforcement when it comes to dangerous crap.

We needed a central place for park concerns!

I am tired of policing the park with my shrieks. Inwood Hill Park is completely chaotic. That is fine in the winter, when there are few park-goers and most are from the neighborhood. But as soon as the weather turns warm, the chaos turns offensive at least, and dangerous in general. Yet there is little to no response from those with the authority to intervene. We all should be able to enjoy the park. Well, maybe not those dudes self-pleasuring along the winding paths, at least, not in any manner they choose!

It is time to come together in numbers, document the varied and numerous disgusting and harmful incidents, and be ready to bring all of our complaints and suggestions to those who can help, but have not given a crap so far.

Come one, come all, and let's make Inwood Hill Park a place we can all enjoy!

Please post any comments and/or photos illustrating any serious problems, illegal activity, or positive feedback about the goings on in Inwood Hill Park.
